Microsoft word is a great application that can help small businesses,
as well as big companies, to help them reduce the amount of paper based systems
that they use. It has the basic tools that everyone can use and this
application is pretty cheap for what can be accomplished.
An alternative to this would be Google docs. This system is
designed to help people upload pictures, videos presentations, etc... To the
internet much faster. And as this product is from Google, it can be accessed pretty
much anywhere in the world as Google is so popular.
As paper based systems requires paper which you get from
trees, you need trees to make the system work. This is overcome by word and Google
docs not using paper. This means that in the short run, it is expensive as you
have to pay for the application but in the long run it is
soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
much cheaper. I believe Microsoft word
would be better than alternative Google docs. This is because word does much more and to a better
quality. Not saying google docs is not very good, it is but Microsoft is by far
the best.
As paper systems rarely exist anymore, the need for typists
decreased. As the typist had certain skills, they needed to change what they
did and how they did it. This meant that secretaries were born. Secretaries do exactly
what typists did, but on computers. This was the change from a typist to a
secretary.
This meant that secretaries, administrators and accounts
could more easily get a job or this is where these types of jobs came from. As computers
were so unused back in the day these people with these skills couldn’t get a
job so the increase in computers meant that millions of jobs became available.
